Summary:

From the authors of Horror Hotel , called “fast-paced and freaky” by #1 NYT bestselling author Kendare Blake, comes another addictive YA horror about a group of teen ghost hunters who are invited to travel onboard a haunted historic cruise ship.

All aboard…

After their fateful stay at the Hearst Hotel, the Ghost Gang is back with more spooks and more subscribers. They’ve been invited to record onboard the RMS Queen Anne, a transatlantic luxury ocean liner with a colorful past of violent deaths of hundreds of passengers—souls that bought a one-way ticket to the afterlife (and never disembarked).

When Chrissy, Chase, Kiki, and Emma board the ship, they have a funny feeling they’ve been sucked into a ghostly time warp—a theory that takes a frightening turn when Chrissy goes missing on the first night.

Unbeknownst to the rest of the group, Chrissy has been sucked into another time by a passenger who wants the Ghost Gang to know her untimely death was not an accident and the perpetrator is still alive—and on board this ship.

My Thoughts:

This is my first book by this writing duo, but it won’t be my last. I been reading a lot of horror and thrillers so Cursed Cruise was a perfect fit for me.

The Ghost Gang is back to investigate a haunted cruise ship, The RMS Queen Anne. There is mystery surround exactly why the ship may be cursed and or haunted. The ship has an unsettling history, as there have been many violent deaths aboard the ship. The gang not only is chasing the truth behind these rumors, but it also racing to be a rival ghost hunting crew that is also seeking the truth. This adds a nice twist to the typical group of friends solving a mystery plot we all know and love.

If you are getting Scooby Doo vibes, you are correct. And it is a great time. Something I loved about Cursed Cruise was how it made me feel. It isn’t super scary: it is a fun spooky read with ghost, friends, and an interesting cruise ship. All of which play into the multiple perspectives in which the story is told, which made reading a lot of fun.

While the one might think the gang is experienced in the ins and outs of a ghostly investigation, they still make silly choices like splitting up. These choices made me shake my head, chuckle, and think “we know better.” Ultimately, these choices fueled the plot, so I cannot complain.

I can’t tell you how their adventure ends, but know it is exciting to watch it all unfold. If you are looking for a quick read with an exciting plot, look not further than Cursed Cruise.
