My Thoughts:
Nightweaver is my second pirate-ish read of the year and a young adult romantasy! What more could a young adult reader ask for?
The story kicks off with Aster’s family’s ship under attack, she and her family are taken captive and brought to the mainland. During this attack her brother, Owen, is killed. Aster and her family fall under the protection of the Castor family. Aster is unable to settle for this life, she wants to avenge Owen and longs to be at sea. In order to do this, she must learn about the Nightweavers.
Quickly you are thrown into a world that is unlike ours. You thought it was just going to be pirates right? WRONG. Humans fled to live life on the sea, while those who live on land are different, other worldly beings (Nightweaver, Sylk, Gore, Underlings, etc). There is a rich lore surrounding this, but you will have to read Nightweaver to discover more about that~
There are not enough words in the world to be to explain how much I enjoyed the characters AND the world as a whole, it makes writing a review difficult. You will have to trust me, this is one you cannot skip this year.
You have to read Nightweaver, 1- it is amazing, 2- I cannot be the only one dying to know what happens next.
