Book Review: Snowy Destinations! Global Winter Word Search for Adults Large Print

Snowy Destinations! Global Winter Word Search for Adults (Large Print) is another cozy win from Hazel Wood, and honestly, I might be biased, but this one is my favorite so far.

I’ve been carrying this book with me while packing and moving across the country. My copy is holding up wonderfully. It has been in my backpack, tote bag, purse, and in the passenger seat of my car.

Each night, it’s been such a nice little treat to unwind with a winter themed puzzle after long days of packing and driving. There’s something extra comforting about settling in and doing a snowy puzzle, even if you’re nowhere near snow.

A nice detail to this winter themed puzzle book is the images on the side. In most, if not all of Hazel Wood’s word search books you can find cute images relating to theme of the word search book around the boarder of each page. In Snowy Destinations! Global Winter Word Search for Adults each page is decorated with snowflakes and Wood’s signature cozy graphics. Something about the snowflakes makes each page feel extra special.

As with Hazel Wood’s other books, the quality amazing. The large print is easy on the eyes, the pages handle pens well, and the puzzles feel thoughtfully put together. The book feels nice in your hands and has a matte cover.

Each puzzle has its own title, a short blurb to set the wintry scene, and 24 words to find. Totaling 2400 words to search for in the book. I’d say the difficulty is easy to medium, which makes it perfect for relaxing without feeling boring or frustrating.

My favorite puzzles in Snowy Destinations! Global Winter Word Search for Adults were “37. Mongolia’s Snow Steppe” and “49. Snow-Cloaked castle of Transylvania.” I love that this book takes you all over the world, exploring snowy destinations instead of sticking to just one place or focusing on different forms of winter fun. This makes each puzzle feel fresh.

For my friends who love stationary products: I’ve used a PaperMate InkJoy pena LePen (Japan), and a Sharpie gel highlighter in the past throughout every one of Hazel Wood’s word search books. The pages hold up great. There is no bleeding through. This time around I am traveling lighter and sticking to a highlighter. It does not bleed through the page, but you can see it somewhat through the page. It is not distracting.

For this wintry themed word search book, I am using the light blue and purple from the 12 count Sharpie Highlighter Fluorescent colors set. You can pick up a set of them here.

If you’re looking for a word search book that travels well, feels cozy, and is genuinely enjoyable to come back to night after night, Snowy Destinations! Global Winter Word Search for Adults is absolutely worth picking up. You can snag a copy on amazon!
