Fantasy is one of my favorite genres. I like lore, world-building, whimsical beast, and the sense of magic the genre brings. What better month to celebrate fantasy than April? The earth is waking up from a winter slumber, magic is all around us.
Each Wednesday and Sunday a fantasy book will post. These books come from my personal library of favorites, TBR list, and currently reading shelf. Most of the titles are dated, but still hold a special place in my heart. Also, a series of reviews are scheduled to post focusing on Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings series, George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, and a few contemporary fantasy titles.
I hope you enjoy what I have planned for April. Maybe you’ll find a book or two to read or have read a few.
Update on Time’s Best 100 YA
I am slowly trekking down the list. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings were on the list, so I am definitely making procress by tackling the denser books before enjoying the quick reads. I’m pushing forward to read His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. I am excited to finally make time to read his series.
Do you enjoy reading fantasy? What are your favorite titles? Who are your favorite authors?
