Book Tour: A Cursed Son by Day Leitao Book Review

I am excited to bring you another gem, A Cursed Son by Day Leitao, on a TBR and beyond book tour. You can check out the full tour here.

Summary:

In her dreams, he envelops her in love. In real life, he imprisons her in ice.

Assassin, liar, impersonator—dreamer.

As a royal decoy, trained to replace the Krastel princess even in a political marriage, Astra’s life is not her own. With a duty like that, how can she dream about love?

And yet she knows she has a kindred soul. She can feel his presence every night, holding her in his arms, surrounding her with his warmth.

But ice-cold reality crashes in when Astra’s carriage is attacked by the Crystal Court’s disgraced prince. Banished for heinous crimes and armed with powerful relics, he’s a wielder of mighty magic and can even penetrate minds.

It turns out that he is the man in her dreams.

And this is about to get very, very awkward.

A Cursed Son is a fun, sexy, enemies-to-lovers romantic fantasy for fans of fae, elemental magic, arranged marriage, forced proximity, snarky banter, and dream connection.

My Thoughts:

A Cursed Son was right up my alley. I love a good enemies to lovers, as do most readers. If that is a trope you enjoy, look no further than A Cursed Son. This is a spoiler free review~

One thing that really stuck out to me was the easy as which you can digest the story. The magic system and fantastic world building as a whole is approachable for all readers. If you are new to the genre you will not be overwhelmed with magic and the ins and outs of fantasy as a whole, if you are well versed in fantasy + romance, A Cursed Son will be a nice treat.

A Cursed Son is really everything I want in a romantasy wrapped into one. There is an enemies to lovers slow burn romance–that alone will sell me. Outside of that, Astra, the main character, is no a typical damsel in distress. And Prince Marlak–amazing. You will have to read to find out exactly why Prince Marlak is a treat. There is magic, banter, and an interesting character driven plot. I love a story with good world-building. You will find Leitao crafts a world that pull you in. After chapter one, I was already hooked. I loved that just enough was revealed to keep me curious and invested, yet I feel as if there is so much to learn about this world.

Right off the bat there is a mention of these dreams Astra is having–which are interesting enough alone. The contrast between Astra dreams and reality is *chef’s kiss.* To make things even better, the banter throughout A Cursed Son had me giggling to myself.

If any you enjoy character banter, spicy dreams, an a slow burner, A Cursed Son is for you!!
