Time’s Best 100 YA Reading Challenge 2019

New year, new reads, same ol’ me.

As we ring in the new year it feels like EVERYONE has a new set of goals for themselves and a fresh outlook on life. It is a refreshing feeling. Sadly, like many have, I have set goals and failed.

In 2016, I read 20ish books. I have a list of excuses why I wasn’t trying to reach my reading goal, but it is in the past.

In 2017, I tried to read 100 books. I failed miserably because I had no plan. I jumped right in like the books were going to float off the shelf and into my hands. I did not manage my time wisely and wanted to read series only–I can’t remember why. I was really setting myself up for failure.

In 2018, I challenged myself to read 50 books. I wanted to venture outside of my comfort zone, so I read books about social issues and diversity. I wanted to build my library with books I could recommend to any reader and wanted to learn more about the world. With a clear plan, I reached my goal! If you need a guide on how to reflect on your year and form a new goal, click here.

In 2019, I will be returning to the 100 book goal by reading YA books from Time’s list of 100 Best YA Books of All Time. I realized there was so much YA I had not read, most are famous stories I had been neglecting for one reason or another. I have read some of the books listed below, you probably have too. I have no plans on reading them again, so I will start from book one and work my way down skipping over the ones I have read. Please join me as a venture through Time’s list of 100 best YA books of All Time!

Below you will find free pdf files of the reading list. Happy New Year~~

Reading Goals

I had planned on reading off the “100 Books to Read Before You Die” list, but then I found this gem and decided this was a better fit me for. I highly encourage all of you to set some sort of reading goal and try to reach it. Maybe you want to read 10 books of this list, 20 minutes three times a week, a little each night, or a book a month. However, you choose to read this year, remember to have fun~

I hope you join me in reading The 100 best YA books. It will be an interesting adventure for sure. I will post reviews as I go under an assigned category “Time’s 100 Best YA.” I will post reviews for other books I am reading as well and continue the informative bookish post on Mondays.

Downloadables

If you would like to download the list you can choose from the PDF files below. One has boxes beside the titles so you can check them off as you go and one does not have boxes.

There’s more than 100 books there if you count all the ones in the series, but I have already read 87 of those listed. Some I would not have considered putting on a top 100 list, but that’s just me. Good luck with your reading journey in 2019. Remember though, its not a race. Have fun and enjoy your reading selections 🙂
